About TripOmeter

We started TripOmeter because group trip planning is broken. Endless WhatsApp threads, scattered links, half-finished spreadsheets, and someone always asking "wait, what time are we leaving?"

TripOmeter brings the whole trip into one place: discovery, voting on dates and stays, live itinerary, expense splitting, and regroup pings — built for how Indian friend groups actually travel.

What makes us different

• Built for the group. Dates, destination, stay and transport are settled by in-app votes — so the plan reflects everyone, not just whoever is loudest in the WhatsApp group.
• The whole trip in one place. Discovery, group chat, voting, a shared day-by-day itinerary, and expense splitting live together — no more juggling screenshots, spreadsheets, and scattered links.
• Realistic itineraries, not wish-lists. Our planner uses real travel times between spots and a scheduler that stops you over-stuffing a day or pushing lunch to 4pm — so the plan actually survives contact with the road.
• Live coordination on the day. Live Trip keeps everyone in sync — opt-in location sharing, "where is everyone?" regroup pings, and a running expense tally — for the messy reality of travelling as a group.

What you can do on TripOmeter

Every feature is built around one idea: the group plans together, then travels together.

• Group voting. Dates, destination, transport and stays are decided WhatsApp-poll style — tap to vote, tap again to change your mind, see who picked what.
• Shared group itinerary. A day-by-day plan every member can edit; changes sync live to the whole group, with a change log showing who edited what.
• AI Assist. Flags tight schedules, over-stuffed days and missed signature sights while you plan.
• Trip checklist with task assignment. Split the packing — assign items to members; only the assignee can tick them off.
• Live Trip mode. On the day: see the group on a live map, share your location, and ping everyone to regroup at a time and place.
• Automatic expense splitting. Log spends as they happen — split equally, exclude people, or split by percentage, with a running per-person tally.
• Group chat. Discussion, suggestions and decisions in one thread — with polls and likes.
• Real, verified data. Actual entry fees, official transport tariffs and honest budgets — never fabricated.

How we make money

TripOmeter's planning features are free, we don't run ads, and we don't sell your data. In future we may earn a small referral or affiliate commission if you choose to book a stay, train, bus, or activity through a third-party booking platform we link to (for example, popular hotel, rail, or bus sites). If and when those partnerships are in place, you'll pay the same price either way, and they'll never change which destinations or options we recommend.
