Lavasa is India's first planned hill city — Mediterranean-styled waterfront architecture set against a Sahyadri reservoir backdrop, just 50 km from Pune. The lakeside promenade, cycling trails, and boat rides on Warasgaon Lake are Lavasa's appeal. Combine it with Mulshi's serene forests and the epic Tamhini Ghat — Maharashtra's most dramatic monsoon drive with dozens of waterfalls on a 45 km ghat road. Note: entering Lavasa costs ₹500 per car or ₹200 per two-wheeler as a 'parking charge'. Hotels here are significantly more expensive than comparable Pune hills destinations.

A monsoon-and-post-monsoon escape (Jun–Feb): the planned lakeside town of Lavasa, the Mulshi dam and lake, Temghar, and forts like Tikona and Korigad. The Tamhini Ghat drive is spectacular in the rains.
