Kashid is the Konkan coast's most accessible white-sand beach — a 3 km crescent of pale sand framed by casuarina forest and steep wooded hills. Drive in from Mumbai (130 km, 3.5h) on Friday evening, swim and feast on fresh seafood Saturday, return Sunday with a stop at the island fortress of Murud-Janjira. Much quieter than Alibaug, much cleaner than the nearer Mumbai beaches.

A clean white-sand beach belt best Oct–Mar. Pair it with the mighty island fort of Murud-Janjira (never conquered) and the quieter coast around Korlai and Phansad.
