Chikhaldara

Maharashtra · 4h 30m drive · 4.1

Maharashtra's only hill station in the Vidarbha region — perched at 1,118 m in the Satpura range, Chikhaldara is the sole coffee-growing area in Maharashtra. Dense forests, waterfalls, panoramic valleys, Gavilgad Fort (a Mughal stronghold), Semadoh Lake, and the adjacent Melghat Tiger Reserve make this a uniquely rewarding destination. Far fewer crowds than Mahabaleshwar or Matheran.
